Turning two months old is hard on a little thing! Today we had Lily's two month check up and she was just happy as a clam with the doctor. She was all smilely and coos until they started poking her with needles... but she was just pitiful and nearly broke my heart when they gave her the shots - two pokes in each leg and she had to take some nasty oral medication. We both spent the afternoon trying to get over the trauma of it all.
Along with the shots we were happy to learn she weighs 9lbs now! She's still tiny, but we're still having some tummy troubles, so we're just happy she's gaining and not loosing. So, starting today I now get to start eliminating soy from my diet as well as dairy. (I found this out and thought to myself, "that's not that big of a deal, I don't eat that much soy..." yeah right. Spend five minutes and you'll discover soy is in everything! It's the number one substitution for dairy to start with, it's in almost every pre-package food, and it's even in gum! Thank goodness I can cook or I'd be starving.) If in two weeks she hasn't improved from me eliminating both from my diet, then we're going to see an allergist. On the bright side, if she does improve, then I get to slowly start adding back in dairy. Oh, what I would do for a slice of yummy gooey cheesey pizza!
