Dairy Free

A week ago Justin came down with a terrible head cold, and I (of course) panicked and sanitized everything we owned to try to keep Lily from getting it. She hasn't gotten it yet, so let's cross our fingers. On Monday I did take her to the doctor though because she looked like she had baby acne all over her body, and her poopy diapers have turned green. The doctor suspects a food allergy, so we have started by cutting all diary products out of my diet. I never realized how much dairy there really is in the food we eat! This has been a real challenge, especially since I like to bake so much... no butter, no milk, no cheese - these are obvious, but there's also no whey or casein which is found in most of the breads you can buy at the grocery, and all kinds of other things like granola bars and cereal. We've been dairy free now since Monday without any changes, but the doc said it would take at least two weeks to see a difference; and, if we don't see a difference by then, we try eliminating something else from my/her diet.

Whew! It's been quite a couple of weeks... oh, and we decided against the possible house. Long story short, in the end it just didn't feel quite right ...and I think ultimately we made the right decision. I'm sure Justin will still be scouring the city and countryside for that perfect place though. :)
