So today was Race for the Cure. We got a new jogging stroller just for the occasion. (Well, and that hope that we'll also use it for other things, like jogging.) My friend, Lauren, and I took BabyBug downtown, where we optimistically kept looking at the gray drizzly sky and saying,
"The rain isn't so bad." "Yeah, it's not too bad, it will be fine."
And so we parked and began the walk to the starting line. Halfway down the block, freezing, and eating rain we were still optimistic.
"I think the sky looks clearer over there." "Definitely, it's getting much better."
I think we made it almost a whole block before the truth finally came out. This is never going to happen.
So we turned around, got back in the car, got breakfast, and went shopping.
You could say it was a good day.

And I'd also like to point out that we'd already paid for the race, so the donatingforagoodcause thing, we'd already accomplished. Maybe not quite the same, but stupid rain. And there's always next year.
