It's just amazing that BabyBug is already six weeks old. Where did the time go? This has really turned into "Bug's Blog," rather than the whole family- but when you're six weeks old, the world really does revolve around you. Justin and I are great, and enjoying parenthood. I'm loving being at home and he's hating his commute to work. But we're not nearly as exciting as BabyBug is... so now that she's a whole month and a half old, thought I'd give you the update on her life and what goes on it:
Bug is a pretty serious baby, she looks hard at things and thinks about them. She smiles, but you have to deserve the smile and really want it bad to get one. She's not one to grant her affections lightly. I on the other hand spend most of my day making silly faces at her and dressing her up like a doll. I never tire of putting her in cute outfits and testing her boundaries of just how long she'll deal with mom in her face.
Somebody give me a racket, I'm ready for some tennis!
She's definitely become a lot more active now that she's a little older. She seems to enjoy "tummy time" and is very strong. (Stronger than Jon.) She can lift her head up and turn to one side or the other. She can follow things with her eyes and she'll turn her head to watch something that interests her when she wants to... her attention span just isn't very long. Just the other day she started noticing the mobile on her swing and the TV when it has brightly colored objects on it.
Come on Mom, no more pictures.
Of course, she still sleeps a lot. And last night she went eight hours between feedings! It might be just a fluke, but she's pretty good about giving me a five hour nighttime stretch most nights, so I count myself lucky. Naps, on the other hand, are sometimes long and wonderful, and sometimes just 15 minutes. She does sleep well in her newest carrier though - my New Native Sling, it is just perfect for around the house during those fussy times and quick trips to the store - definitely one of my favorite baby products.
Yum, my fist tastes so good.
She has started finding her fists on her own too. Might not seem that big of a deal to you, but it's pretty cool for her... not to mention she has no idea who's fists those are, or where they came from. Sometimes those crazy fists punch her in the cheek instead of making a tasty snack though, and she's not such a fan of that.
That about sums up life when you're just six weeks old - eat, sleep, and poop - who could ask for anything more?

Heather, I love reading all about Lily! I can't wait to be able to experience all of the excitment and joy you guys are with our little guy. I can't believe she is already six weeks old...time is flying by! Has Cari's belly gotten much bigger or has she started to even out some? I saw her a while back and she was showing in her belly so much more than I was. I was jealous because she said she hadn't gained any weight anywhere else, I swear mine all goes to my legs and just a little to the belly :)
I really think she should be in more pink! I'm so glad you update the blog all of the time it's keeping me through these couple of months. Her being my desktop backround helps too:). Love and miss you all!XOXO!
