Painting Closets

I have such a great husband. He is so handy, he works so hard, and he takes great care of me. This weekend, while I got a pedicure and went shopping with my Mom and Grandma he puttered around the house and finished the cabinet drawer faces in the kitchen! He’s always got about 15 projects going on, and he’s currently working on getting the last bedroom sanded, primed, and painted. It’s really amazing how much work he has done restoring this old house- and one thing that just does not get enough recognition is painting closets. Painting closets is one of the most tedious tasks I can think of when it comes to painting. Cramped spaces, lots of nooks and crannies- it’s such fun. (And I can actually attest to this, because I crammed my pregnant belly into the linen closet last night and attempted to give it a first coat.) The thing about the closet is that it’s a space that you get so little satisfaction out of updating. I mean, no one is going to walk through our house when we try to sell it and say “boy, look at all the work they did painting those closets!” Really, why on earth would you paint a closet anyway? Well, if your house was built in 1929, and the closets are DISGUSTING and painted various shades of Pepto-Bismol pink or mint green (lovely) then you would probably find yourself needing to paint the closets. So, I just wanted to share with you what a lovely job Justin did at painting Lily’s closet (built-in dresser and all) and his hard work on the linen closet in the places I couldn’t reach. Good job sweetie! Way to paint those closets! Two down, only three more to go!
